DC-260D Online Transformer Dry Out System

Transformer Continuous Drying

DC-260D Online Transformer Dry Out System

The DC-260D system is designed for online drying of transformer insulation (insulating oil and cellulose insulation). DRYCORE technology involves connecting the DC-260D system to the transformer and keeping the system permanently connected to the transformer throughout the entire drying process. The operating principle of the DRYCORE online transformer drying system is based on oil circulation in a closed loop: first, the oil flows out of the transformer, then passes through three cartridges filled with sorbent, where the sorbent removes moisture contained in the oil, after which the dried oil is returned back to the transformer.

Description

The DC-260D system is designed for online drying of transformer insulation (insulating oil and cellulose insulation).

DRYCORE technology involves connecting the DC-260D system to the transformer and keeping the system permanently connected to the transformer throughout the entire drying process. The operating principle of the DRYCORE online transformer drying system is based on oil circulation in a closed loop: first, the oil flows out of the transformer, then passes through three cartridges filled with sorbent, where the sorbent removes moisture contained in the oil, after which the dried oil is returned back to the transformer.

Due to the fact that, in a loaded transformer, moisture migrates from the cellulose insulation into the oil and back, the application of DRYCORE technology makes it possible not only to dry the insulating oil but also to reduce the moisture content in the cellulose insulation.

Benefits

Key Benefits of the DC-260D

  • Universal Compatibility: The system can be connected to transformers of any type and age, making it suitable for both new installations and aging power equipment without design limitations.
  • Fast Installation: Connection of the system to the transformer takes less than one hour, allowing rapid commissioning without prolonged outages or disruption to normal operation.
  • Effective Moisture Removal: The sorbent captures moisture regardless of its temperature or physical state, ensuring stable dehydration performance under varying operating conditions.
  • Energy-Efficient Operation: Oil drying is performed without heating, eliminating additional thermal stress on the oil and insulation while reducing energy consumption.
  • Minimal Operator Involvement: The system operates automatically and does not require continuous operator supervision, reducing labor demands and the risk of human error.
  • Flexible Installation Options: The unit can be installed either temporarily for corrective drying or permanently for continuous moisture control, providing flexibility in maintenance strategy and asset management.
